The Internship Pathway at Grace Skills Care Academy provides supervised practical exposure for trainees who have completed required training components and meet program standards.
This pathway is designed to support skill application, professional conduct, and readiness for real caregiving environments.

What the Internship Involves

The internship pathway is a structured period of supervised caregiving practice. It allows trainees to apply learned skills in real or simulated care settings under oversight.
The focus is on:

  • Practical skill application
  • Adherence to care and safety standards
  • Professional behavior and responsibility

Who Qualifies

Internship placement is not automatic. Eligibility is based on:

  • Completion of required training modules
  • Satisfactory assessment results
  • Demonstrated professionalism and conduct
  • Approval through internal review

The internship pathway follows a defined structure which may include:

Assigned caregiving activities
Supervised practice sessions

Supervision & Assessment

Interns are supervised and assessed throughout the internship period using defined evaluation criteria. Assessment focuses on the following six areas:

Skill Application

Ability to correctly apply caregiving techniques and procedures as taught during training.

Safety & Hygiene Compliance

Adherence to hygiene protocols, safety standards, and infection prevention practices.

Professional Conduct

Demonstration of appropriate behavior, boundaries, and respect in caregiving settings.

Communication & Interaction

Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and respectfully with care recipients and supervisors.

Reliability & Responsibility

Consistency in attendance, punctuality, task completion, and adherence to assigned duties.

Responsiveness to Supervision

Willingness to receive guidance, correct mistakes, and apply feedback during supervised practice.
Assessment outcomes contribute to internship completion decisions.

Completion Outcome

Successful completion confirms participation in supervised practical caregiving exposure.
Completion of the internship pathway:
Does not guarantee employment
Does not serve as a professional license
Does not imply placement with external institutions
